Hotels so comfy,
you’ll love coming home to them.
In San Mateo, we stay at La Perdi Hotel and Restaurant. Located just a few steps up from the main square, La Perdi is a clean, quiet, and comfortable hotel. Newly renovated, its Spanish tiles sparkle, its bedrooms, each with a brand new private bath, are newly refurbished and most have balconies. Its restaurant has the best food in a town of very good restaurants.
It is a family run establishment. They take great pride in their hotel,
and will do just about anything for us. In over ten years of bringing
bikers to La Perdi, no one has ever complained.
One of our stages takes us to tiny Vallibona. Deep in the high Maestrazgo Mountains, it is where we will spend an overnight. Except for July and August, when it’s a cool and quite getaway for city and coastal dwellers, Vallibona is a village of 45 residents. We stay at the one hotel in town. The beds are comfy and the food is like the best grandmother’s cooking.
On our way back, we will stop in Morella, which is as close to
a tourist town that you will see in the Maestrazgo. Here we’ll have a
fabulous lunch and you can explore and shop in its unique stores
brimming with local goodies and crafts.
