Behind Cycle España are a couple
of devoted and caring hosts.
Ask people who have been on a Cycle España tour what they like best, and they answer: Mark, Margaret, the roads, and the scenery.
Mark and Margaret Rogers own and run Cycle España. Since 1994, they have guided hundreds of bikers and walkers through the hidden treasures of the Maestrazgo. They have worked in the hospitality industry in this region of Spain for over 25 years. In 1986, they purchased and rebuilt a ruin of a house in Cervera del Maestre. In 2006, they intend to live there full time.
Mark and Margaret have many friends in the Maestrazgo. These unique Americans are as at home here as in their original hometown of Philadelphia. They speak Spanish, French, some German, and some Valenciano, which is the local language of the Maestrazgo.
Mark and Margaret provide a safe and comfortable touring experience.
It’s a perfect blend of professional service and homey casualness. No wonder so many of their bikers and walkers return year after year.
Mark is an experienced fitness rider. He knows every twist and turn of the region. He is a font of information and a great storyteller. From the cave men who left their graffiti on cavern walls, to the Arabs who left their buildings, cuisine, and language, to Franco, who provided towns with laundries, Mark can speak about it.
Margaret is a fitness expert as well as a graduate of horticulture and landscape design. She knows trees, shrubs, fruits and flowers. She has an eye for the hidden and the rare. She can spot a hidden fossil or a rare plant. She is very body-smart and will watch that you don’t over do. She supplies plenty of water and even walking sticks.
